NEW APWEN BRANCH IN THE WOMB
Female Engineers within Ekiti state came together on the 22nd of )October 2007 to have a maiden meeting . in the meeting ten (10) people were present while four apologized for not coming.The vision of APWEN was discussed and five(5) people were nominated to coordinate the affairs of the association till the official inauguration APWEN in ekiti state. At the end of the meeting was held on the 19th November 2007. Twelve (12) people were in attendance and two (2) gave their apologies. In the meeting, disscussions were made on how the branch will be inuagurated, and a sensitization programme on the importance of science and mathematicss for female students in achosen primary and secondary school was planned. We plan to carry on with our other programmees while we look forward to our inuaguration.

APWEN celeberates 25th Anniversary

APWEN will be 25 this year. The President, Engr. Valerie Ifueko Agberagba has called on all chapter Chairpersons to gear all programmes towards the celeberation with programmes on career mentoring, professinal development, excursions/industrial visits and more. SNEPCO adopts APWEN as an organisation and donates N2.5M towards 2007 programme. The President joined APWEN abuja for an industrial visit to kaduna textiles and used the oppurtunity to see the kaduna chapter executive. APWEN is collaborating with NUC to organise a Stakeholders forum for the NUEWI project. more details as soon as the programme is finalized. APWEN president Engr. Valerie Agberagba, Founding President, Engr Maduka , Acen President Engr Mayen Adetiba, Anniversary Chairman, Engr Adelowo and others for the WFEO conference for women in engineerng in Tunisia. Anniversary committee intensifies efforts in planning for a grand celebratory programme in november. Pleae call the secretariat if you want to be part of the planning.
